Michelada con Modelo Especial
Michelada (Lime juice, hot sauce, Jugo Maggi (seasoning sauce), Worcestershire sauce and a light beer)
I used to be a bartender in San Miguel de Allende and it was amazing to see how people have different definitions for certain drinks. Terms may vary by region but the ones I know are the following:
Chelada: Beer, lime and salt
Michelada: Lime juice, hot sauce, Jugo Maggi (seasoning sauce), Worcestershire sauce and a light beer
Clamachela / Clamato: Michelada + Clamato or Vodka with Clamato
Some places are famous for their drinks because they will add “secret ingredients” or garnish with sea food. A staple in Mexican drinking.
