I have never had Foie Gras before but that will change tonight! While I am pretty aware of how this dish is made, I encourage anyone who hasnt eaten it or has and liked it to eat it before July 1st. Run and make reservations at your favorite spot in the city. You only live once god damnit!
There will be a ban starting July 1st against Foie Gras in California and many chefs have protested this ban nationwide. I am aware that many mexicanfoodporn viewers are vegans, or vegeterians but I disagree with this Foie Gras ban. Why? because I think food should be about exploring, obviously not at the expense of mistreating animals, but if these animals are “treated” in the best way possible. Why not?.
If we were to ban everything that mistreats animals, then we would have no meat or seafood industry…I agree that things should be fresher, and more locally grown though.
Finally, picture if we had all these bans world wide: Say goodbye to your carnitas, say goodbye to your chorizo, say goodbye to amazing chinese, french, pakistani, italian, german and many other cuisines.
Anyway enough of rants. PETA I still love you, but I am having some Foie Gras tonight!!!!
