I have gotten several messages on how the Modelo beers arent Mexican beers because of Anheuser-Busch InBev purchase of the company. Ok so the rich bastards bought the company… now what? it stops being Mexican? ok literally it does, but their branding, their feel, their history cant be switched just like that?
Imagine Corona ads with Belgium people jumping around… (I can almost see those american spring breakers crying in dissaproval). Those beers might have changed owners, but its very unlikely their strategy of sales and production will change.
And I quote:
A-B InBev said Grupo Modelo will keep its name, identity and headquarters in Mexico City. Modelo’s Chairman and CEO Carlos Fernández Gonzalez and other executive members will remain on the Grupo Modelo’s board of directors. A-B InBev said two Grupo Modelo board members will join A-B InBev’s board of directors and invest $1.5 billion of their proceeds in A-B InBev shares.
I dont care if some rich businessmen own the big bucks from those beers. Those beers are being produced on Mexican soil and as long as they remain that way. They are Mexican.

TRUE. My Bohemia Obscura will always be Mexican-blooded.
Read my mind. I agree with all of this.
so basically others benefiting from the history and work of Mexicans. Nice.
