Frijoles Charros / Frijoles a la charra
Beaners. Yes, we do love beans… beans are such a versatile dish, and on top of that there are a lot of bean varieties. Anyway, one of Mexicos most beloved way of eating beans are “Frijoles Charros”. Frijoles charros are almost like a soup and contain frijoles pintos (or bayos) with chiles (serranos or jalapeños will do). Now the fun part begins: Onions, Cilantro and BACON… want to go the extra mile since you are already a sinner? put some chorizo in there.
